The Wall Street Journal reports that, “[Lou Jiwei, chairman of the China Investment Corporation,] said CIC still needs time to prepare for big investments, and reiterated that it will first hire an external fund manager and set up an advisory body of foreign experts, before gradually starting to invest on its own.”

Bloomberg reports that, “[Hong Kong chief executive Donald] Tsang… asked China Investment Corp., the nation’s $200 billion sovereign wealth fund, to keep Hong Kong in mind when choosing asset managers for the entity’s overseas investments, the [Hong Kong government’s] press office said, citing the chief executive’s meeting with CIC Chairman Lou Jiwei.”
