CPPIB to become more involved in debt markets

The Globe and Mail reports that, “The Canada Pension Plan Investment Board is taking a more sophisticated approach towards investing in the public and private debt markets as it continues to diversify from the government bond holdings that once comprised its entire portfolio. The CPPIB’s multi-faceted strategy, unveiled today in its annual report, will include investments in distressed mortgage securities, senior bank loans and corporate bonds.”
